Marc is currently serving as the Managing Director/CEO of Reefknot Investments, a Global Venture Capital firm, focusing on Supply Chain and Logistics Technology start-ups. Reefknot, backed by Temasek and Kuehne + Nagel, strives to help drive Supply Chain and Logistics industry transformation by identifying and actively supporting high growth technology start-ups seeking to transform the industry.
Throughout his 20+ yr career, Marc has actively been involved in the Supply Chain/Logistics and Technology space, Global and Asian Industry Think Tanks, as well as being an Advisor in several Global and Asian growth companies and Venture Funds.
Marc has also previously served as the CEO for an Asia Pacific Supply Chain Technology firm, in Executive/Directorship capacities in MNCs such as IBM and Deloitte Consulting, as well as founded/co-founded several successful start-ups.
In addition, Marc has co-founded a Global Supply Chain/Logistics Technology Think Tank, co-authored multiple whitepapers, and is a frequent speaker especially on the subjects of Innovation & Reinvention, Big Data/Analytics, and Supply Chain Management. He has been interviewed and featured by CNBC Asia, DealStreet Asia, Nikkei Asian Review, China Daily, The Business Times (Singapore), Channel NewsAsia, Portfolio Magazine, and other media.
He is Certified in Production & Inventory Management (CPIM) from The Association for Operations Management (APICS), holds an IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation Certification, and graduated with an Honours Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
As Vice President – Open Innovation, Marine Products for Wilhelmsen Ships Service (WSS), Nakul is an avid proponent of bridging industry domain expertise with new age technology capabilities.
He advocates an Open Innovation philosophy to solve the big maritime challenges by leveraging a deep sense of eco-system thinking and the ability to collaborate with permeable organisational boundaries.
Nakul combines a wealth of maritime sales, operations and management experience, with qualifications in marine engineering, business management and direct seafaring experience from his years working as an engineer. A keen commentator on maritime innovation and digitalization, tangible solutions for decarbonisation and plastics pollution are a personal passion.
Chung Piaw TEO is Provost’s Chair Professor in NUS Business School, and Executive Director of the Institute of OR and Analytics in the National University of Singapore. He was a fellow in the Singapore-MIT Alliance Program, an Eschbach Scholar in Northwestern University (US), Professor in Sungkyunkwan Graduate School of Business (Korea), and a Distinguished Visiting Professor in YuanZe University (Taiwan). He studies issues in service and manufacturing operations, supply chain management, discrete optimization, and machine learning. He is currently a Department Editor for Management Science (Optimization), and a former Area Editor for Operations Research (Operations and Supply Chains). He has also served on several international committees such as the Chair of the Nicholson Paper Competition (INFORMS, US), member of the LANCHESTER and IMPACT Prize Committee (INFORMS, US), Fudan Prize Committee on Outstanding Contribution to Management (China). He serves on the advisory board/management committee of Singapore University of Technology and Design (ESD Pillar), School of Management in the University of Science and Technology China (USTC), the Global Asia Institute and the Risk Management Institute in NUS (Singapore). He is an INFORMS Fellow and also a “Chang Jiang Scholar” (“长江学者”) awarded by China’s Ministry of Education.
Mr. Chua Chye Poh is the founder of ShipsFocus, a maritime-dedicated venture studio. He is also a venture partner at Quest Ventures, a leading venture fund headquartered in Singapore. Chye Poh’s interest is in inclusive growth; getting maritime commerce ride the digital wave; and helping maritime SMEs close the digital divide.
Koh Yong Ping is Chief Executive of Bureau Veritas Marine and Offshore Singapore. In this role, he leads corporate development, sales strategy and operations, customer support and is responsible for delivering on all aspects of the Country’s financial goals.
Joining Bureau Veritas in 2003, he has held multiple commercial and management roles in Singapore and South East Asia. Most recently, he sat on the Global Transformation Committee that is responsible for strategizing and re-modeling of the operational and expertise network worldwide.
Yong Ping has worked for 9 years in the Ministry of Defence (Navy), after having studied Marine Engineering at the University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne on a Defence Scholarship. He also holds a master’s degree in safety, health and environmental from the National University of Singapore.
Passionate about contributing to the Marine industry, Yong Ping is a current member of the Industry Advisory Committee (Singapore Institute of Technology), Marine and Offshore Standards Technical Committee (Singapore Standards Council) and is also the Honorary Auditor of the ASMI.
William Lee worked for 10 years at Panasonic Corporation (under the Matsushita Electric Industrial Scholarship, Osaka Japan) as a Research and Development Engineer; and upon completion of his post-graduate training in New York City, he worked for another 13 years at Hewlett-Packard Company (Palo Alto, California) as Principal of Technology Operations within the Printing and Personal Computer Systems Group.
He has gained deep industrial experiences from research innovation, product development, manufacturing, procurement and supply-chain operations, go-to-market and commercialization strategies; including NPV justification for new program corporate funding allocation, business model creation and breakeven projections.
On the Research translational front, he is the Strategic Innovation Associate Director of Advanced Robotics Centre (ARC) at the National University of Singapore (NUS), with the task to bring Research outcome of AI-driven Robotics and Autonomous Technology-to-Market (T2M). William co-founded AImatix Pte Ltd, a NUS Enterprise-enabled Startup, into the space for high-density pedestrian pathway with autonomous devices as the “last” of the last-mile solution. NUS Research role includes Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) to BCA-HDB Façade Inspection Project funded thru NRF Central Gap, ST Engineering Land Systems Autonomous Bus (12-metres) funded by NRF/MOT/LTA; and A*AI Collaborative Robots funded by A*STAR. Concurrently, he also has teaching assignments as Adjunct Associate Professor and been asked to advise Deep Technology spin-offs from NUS.

Before joining the Department of Mechanical Engineering at National University of Singapore 13 years ago in 2006, A/Prof Loh Wai Lam has practised for more than 16 years in the UK industry, as Senior Project Engineer, Project Manager, Consultant and Head of R&D. During this time he has led and managed numerous multi-disciplinary consortium R&D projects relating to oil & gas production, transportation and subsea, etc. He has also successfully invented, patented and developed numerous novel devices and systems for the Industry. Through his innovative work, Prof Loh has received several prestigious international awards including THE ROYAL SOCIETY Esso Energy Award and Gold Medal in 1998 and the Special Meritorious Award for Engineering Innovation at the Offshore Technology Conference from Hart’s Petroleum International, USA, in 1999.
A/Prof Loh is also a Chartered Engineer and a Member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He is currently Programme Manager (Subsea Systems and Transportation) for the Centre of Offshore Research & Engineering (CORE).
Bee Lock was formerly Head of Group Technology at PSA International, a global terminal operator with presence in 19 countries. He has extensive experience in port operations, IT and engineering domains having been the Chief Operating Officer of PSA Singapore.
Bee Lock has passion for, and steered a wide range of innovation initiatives leveraging on technologies – having led efforts with Portnet.com, Tuas Port and PSA unboXed.
Thomas graduated as a computer engineer from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and holds a MBA from National University of Singapore (NUS). He began his career with the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) as a Systems Analyst and has since taken up various roles within and outside MPA.
He is the Deputy Director of MPA’s Innovation, Technology and Talent Development Division (ITTD), responsible for developing a Vibrant Maritime R&D and Innovation Ecosystem in Singapore. The division administers a $250m Maritime Innovation and Technology Fund (a.k.a. the MINT Fund) and various programmes such as PIER71, Smart Port Challenge, Living Labs, Maritime Transformation Programme and Additive Manufacturing JIP.
He works closely with the Singapore Maritime Institute (SMI) to deepen key maritime R&D capabilities and industry-academia partnerships, and has supported the development of Maritime R&D Roadmap 2030.
He is also part of the planning and execution team for Sea Transport Industry Transformation Map (ITM), and the Next Generation Port 2030 that steers the development of the future mega port at Tuas.
Dr Yeoh is Professorial Fellow for Entrepreneurship at the School of Computing, National University of Singapore (NUS), where he drives the school’s innovation and entrepreneurship efforts, teaching undergraduate and graduate classes in tech entrepreneurship and mentoring aspiring student entrepreneurs and start-up founders. He was the Executive Director for the Mediapreneur, a corporate incubation programme for media startups at Mediacorp Pte Ltd during 2014-2019.
In a career spanning over 30 years, he has been a research scientist, research institute director, internet start-up CEO, investor, professor, government policy maker and adviser on innovation.
He holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from Loughborough University (UK) and a Masters degree from the MIT Sloan Fellows programme for innovation and global leadership.
Carmen joined Vertex Ventures Southeast Asia and India in 2014. She has served many years in Singapore’s government-backed venture capital initiatives including EDB Investments and Spring SEEDS Capital where she worked closely with many startup companies in Singapore. She currently serves on the Board of TickledMedia (dba TheAsianParent.com) and Turnkey Lender. Carmen received her BBA from Simon Fraser University.
